A letter from May 27th, 2013

Dear FutureMe, I told mom about wanting to die today. I hope that today is the start of a change. It won't be overnight. It will be incredibly difficult. Things might have to get worse before they can get better. But it's something. Today I did something that took two and a half years to build the courage to do. All I can hope for now is for that courage to pay off. I want things to be good again. They can be if I make them so. Here's looking at you, kid. J
