Dear Future Me in January 1st 2025,
I hope this letter finds you well and thriving. As I sit down to write this, I can’t help but wonder about the journey you’ve been on and the experiences you’ve had only the past 4 months. Here are some questions I have for you:
Personal Growth:
How have you grown as a person since I wrote this letter?
What new skills or hobbies have you picked up?
Have you achieved any of the goals I set for us such as receiving your drivers license and finding a college to go to for fall 2025
Career and Education:
Are you in that HVAC apprenticeship you’ve just applied for?
What significant milestones have you reached since August?
Are you at all planning on changing your main career choice from HVAC to JAVA programming or to some other career such as IT or a business career?
How is your GPA looking
Are you still working at your current job? If not, then where do you work?
Relationships:
Have you made any new meaningful connections?
Have you found a date for prom
Health and Well-being:
How is your physical and mental health?
What habits have you developed to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Are you still not eating sugar like you were during the summer
Experiences:
Have you traveled to any new places?
What memorable experiences have you had?
Challenges and Lessons:
What challenges have you faced, and how did you overcome them?
What important lessons have you learned along the way?
How have these experiences shaped your perspective on life?
Future Aspirations:
What are your current dreams and aspirations?
How do you plan to achieve them?
What advice would you give to your past self (me) right now?
I am very optimistic about January 1st 2025 when I can read your responses and reflect on the journey we’ve taken. Remember to stay true to yourself and keep striving for happiness and fulfillment
With hope and curiosity,
Benjamin Zinsou on August 12th 2024
