A letter from January 10th, 2023

Dear FutureMe, Wow. 2022 was a year. I could write about Ari or Rylee but I’d rather focus on something personal. This year on December 17, I was hit by a truck. This has life changing in many ways. So here’s how it happened. I was driving to work during a snow storm and I spun out hitting the guardrail. I don’t really remember the rest, but I’ve been told that I got out of the car to see the damage. When I was outside of the car a truck coming towards me lost control due to the snow and hit me. He also hit my car totaling the vehicle. Luckily Tina was okay she was in the car. So, the damage. I had a broken jaw in three places, a gash on my head, a broken clavicle, broken right arm, 6 broken ribs, and a collapsed lung. Everyone tells me it’s a miracle I lived. I am grateful I lived and I hope this experience helps me learn to appreciate being alive again. I hope my body heals well. I have nerve damage as well. The spot where my clavicle broke is numb, my bottom lip/chin has no feeling, my right eyebrow cannot raise, and the right arm has a few random numb spots. Hopefully by the time this reaches me I will have gained the majority of feeling back, but the doctors are unsure. No promises basically. I hope 2023 is a good year for me. Good luck my friend.
