A letter from Sep 06, 2022

Dear FutureMe, What's up me? I told myself I would do this like 3 weeks ago, but the time has come for me to stop putting it off haha. Today is a pretty cool day in our life! At least it is at the time of our writing this. Today is the first day of our first year of uni! I'm shipping this off to sometime pretty close your second year if we're still at U of C lol. IDK about what we think at the time that we're reading this, but I think that's pretty dang cool. It wasn't too long ago that we were considering dropping out lol, so to think that we're here on the first day of this new and hopefully eventful adventure, is pretty crazy to think about! I have so many questions! How did we do in school last year? How was our summer? Did we end up travelling like we wanted? Do we have friends who love us for us? I also have more than a few reflective questions but I'll only list a few rn haha. Are we where we thought we would be a year ago? Are we doing what we want in life? Are we proud of what our life looks like right now? I think that covers the heaviest bases :) So to get away from the super heavy stuff for a bit, I think I'll write a short rant about how our life is currently. Right now we're unemployed lol. We are definitely considering joining some clubs and getting more involved in the SU and possibly the HSA! Our car is broken lmao so hopefully when you're reading this, it's fixed! We bought a Macbook yesterday so hopefully it helped us out this year and in the future :) We're a little bit nervous for this coming year, but definitely ready to tackle the challenge! Today we only had one 8am class, but we had to get up at like 5:40am and the current me is kinda loving that! Life is pretty chill rn and we are having a pretty nice time haha. I hope that we YOU are reading this, you feel okay <3 There are a few things I want to say to you just before we wrap this up! I know we rarely show this side of ourselves, but I really hope that in this past year we have been able to come to terms with healthy expression of our emotions. I hope we don't still yearn for tears to fall and wet our cheeks while the dryness of our skin splits us in 2. I want you to be happy. Please. For Me, the Me who's writing this, promise me that if you're not already, you'll do your best to find the good in everything and everyone. Life is too short and we don't wanna spend it sad :( I hope we were able to control ourself in relation to desire. The world of university feels a lot different, but just because we're re-inventing yourself, that doesn't mean that we can't keep the old good and leave out the new bad! Some final little tidbits of advice/ other random stuff that should be said before I end this. Love our family! ESPECIALLY immi and bayi!!! They may be hard to deal with sometimes, but they all always have our back and they love us more than anyone else will. Please maintain a great relationship with them and if you're reading this, go do something nice for them! :) Don't be afraid to take more risks! Nothing fun or amazing comes from people who are boring and follow a rigid structure! Really start thinking about your future. As much as I hate it when people tell the current me that, it really does help out to know what's going on so we can have some sort of plan lol. Make sure you keeping up with your islamic duties. If I'm being honest, I'm a little afraid that that ma slip from us, so if it unfortunately has, this is your sign to get it under control! Please be kind and gentle with yourself! Keep up with the blog man!!! Taking japanese and learning about the culture isn't for nothing dude! Let's go to Japan :) if that's still what we want haha. Okay, really tho, that's quite enough.
