Time Travelled — 27 days

Peaceful right?

oi, future me! it's almost school, and i wanted to write something to you. currently, we're extremely excited for school again, since we hate summer so much- i'm going school shopping this afternoon and we're so excited. however, for some odd reason, 7b is making us get a bunch of unnecessary supplies that we hate- unlike our pumpkin productivity planner and that sage-green binder we love so much. by the way, have we been using the planner? i know we normally forget about planners but that one is so beautiful that we should definitely still be using it. i thought it was important to tell you that we're currently super happy! school starts soon, we're being productive and neat and all things nice, and (this is public so i'm not going to give an actual name, lets just call her R) has just informed us that she still likes us, which we're very excited about. are we still together? i hope so. we should be going to pride soon, in your time. if you've been checking your email, it's the end of september, and the pride in our town is october 8th, i believe. who are we bringing? we're currently thinking R, K, B, A, Z, and the other A, and maybe L. and if you haven't been checking your email, i'm disappointed in you (and so are your teachers, i bet) we know that this year, homeroom is going to be way more chill and nice, but also productive. instead of dashing off to breakfast with an unnecessarily giant pack of people like we did last year, we're going to get ready for the day (because our homeroom teacher will make us, which is good, actually) and then go to the library (on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays.) we'll go to breakfast every two weeks to catch up with K, and that'll be nice. anyways, have a nice day. i hope you're still feeling well. and if you're feeling empty and numb like you do so often, i hope these short stories we wrote yesterday help. love u <3 (ps. we haven't finished the last two yet, sorry.) 1: The kids have marshmallow smeared all over their faces. It’s a Friday night, and everyone’s huddled around the campfire making smores. Smoke swirls into the air, bringing with it the scent of autumn nights. You walk over to get another marshmallow, and the full moon casts a beautiful light over the porch, reminding you of how much you love this season. 2: You walk outside, backpack tight around your shoulders, instrument case in your hand. You begin walking and wander onto the grass. It makes an unusual crunch you haven’t heard for quite a while- frost, the first one of the season. 3: Chop, chop, chop. Sprinkle, stir, mash. The sweet, tangy, smell of apples swirls through the kitchen, blending with the warm crumble set aside. You lay them both into the pan and set it into the oven, sipping your tea as you wait for the warm, autumnal apple crisp to finish baking. 4: Brrring, brrrring! The alarm clock rings, it’s a cold school morning. You shimmy out of your fleece pajamas, shivering. You yank on a pair of cuffed jeans and pull an oversized orange sweater over your head. The sleeves dangle just past your hands, and your torso’s swimming in it- just how you like it. 5: Your whole family’s in the backyard, raking up crunching brown, red, orange, yellow, purple leaves. As your sister complains about being itchy and cold and thirsty, you back up from the giant pile. Then…you run towards it as fast as you can and cannonball directly into the center, getting some yelling and a bruised butt, but you would do it again happily- it was definitely worth it. 6: You finish the last bite of your sweet apple cider donut, tossing your plate into the sink and grabbing your bookbag. Slamming the door behind you, you breathe in the chilly bite of autumn air that snaps at your nose and dries up your throat. 7: Wrapping leaves around in a circle, covering them with berries and glitter, hanging them on the door. You step back, admire, then step forward again and move the wreath a centimeter to the left- a half centimeter to the right- perfect. 8: Bump, bump, bump, BUMP! Kids shriek and moms rub their heads as the hayride crashes through the field, over the creek, up the hill. As it rolls to the top, you see them- the pumpkins, green and white and ORANGE- for jack-o-lanterns and pie and roasted seeds and breads and everything else amazing about autumn. 9: You’ve just finished a Halloween thriller novel, and you’re going out for a walk. Your hair catches on a spindly branch, and you jump, letting out a little on-edge yelp. You glance around the rest of the way home, paranoid from the creepiness, and slam the door behind you as you step back into the house. 10: The morning air is cold and fresh, and you shiver in your button-down and jeans, pulling a hoodie over your chilled shoulders. 11: You yank a long, gray scarf from the closet, wrapping it closely around your neck as you step outside and the autumn air bites at every inch of you.
