A letter from Feb 15th, 2022

Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, Right now, we're procrastinating on an assignment we definitely should have started earlier during break. What are you doing? Are you cooking dinner? Doing chores? Out with friends? Where did you want to be? I know so many letters I've sent talk about which college we want to go to, but it's ok to change. Whatever makes you happy is what we should do. Now, the big question. Was it love? The way he wrapped his arms around us sure made us think so. I really hope it is. I want a future with him. Did we get it? He's the reason we're still going. Him and his vanilla cappuccinos. Him and his ever present half smile. Him and his voice and the way he says "I love you". I still love him. I hope you do too. I've picked up writing again, but it's different this time. I wrote a story about the consequences of senseless violence and overcoming hurt. Did it matter to anyone? If even one person read it, that's enough for me. It made a difference to them. I'm driving now. I don't have my full license because I don't have enough hours, but I'm working really hard. I think I'll have my license before the end of the school year. That's all I guess. I hope you read this and remember what we used to be like. I hope you read this. We'll make it, I'm sure. Stay gold.
