A letter from Feb 4th, 2022

Dear FutureMe, Erm, Hi! It is your birthday, today, and you are turning Thirteen. You are probably in Secondary School by now and I hope it is easy, but considering my luck I'm guessing it won't be. Anyways, hopefully you are a better Muslim than present me -for me/you when I was 11- because right now, I am not the best one. I'm sure you've made some friends, but be careful not to have too big of a group or else someone will get left out, plus, you should know this as I am speaking from personal experience. I finished reading Harry Potter for the 2nd time today! II hope you still adore and love books, especially Harry Potter. I've always loved it which means you've loved it as well because y'know you ARE me, just from the future. I mean I don't think I would've have changed too much over the course of 2-3 years, right? Surely, you are still friends with Marien, Aleigha, Amy P and many more like, Jamie, Bobby, remember how good friends we were - and hopefully still are? I cherish friendship as if you find a good friend you should never try to lose them as you never will find anyone like them ever. I swear, if you are not friends with Zainab Jabeen - from next door- you would have disappointed present me - past you/me for you. I mean we were best friends, the only true one that lasted, and confidently we still are friends, our mothers are close, as you know, so surely you still are friends with her. I wonder if you have moved, and if you have, I hope it is an amazing house! I'm guessing Dad is still going back forth, from Here to Qatar. But if he isn't, then that is absolutely wonderful! Safa should be around 3 years old now, d'you remember how you always used to be nice to her and be absolutely ruthless towards Soha, but it's whatever she deserved it, though I do hope your relation ship with her is a bit better because I wouldn't always want to Hate her. You always wanted to learn Italian, Russian and Arabic and I hope you have! But if you have not I hope that you are trying very hard. If you have not started yet, start, it is easier to learn a new language as a younger person than it is to learn as older one. Do you still read Wattapad? If you don't then my prediction is that you have moved onto real book euphoria. I have a lot of questions, but I think they are not too important, well, not important enough to waste your time. I will stop now, and let you do whatever you are doing. Remember to write another letter to your 15 or 14 year old self. Remember the good old memories, ya know what I'm saying? Well I guess this is goodbye for the time being, I hope the next 2 years for me and the past 2 years for you has been good, wait, before I leave, how is Covid, has the condition gotten any better?
