Lourdes First Birthday

Dear FutureMe, Today is a joyous day, your beautiful sweet baby was born one year ago today, 11 weeks early. On this day last year when you went by her isollete to catch a glimpse of her, on your way from the surgery recovery room to your regular room, all you saw was this little precious bundle weighing just 2.1 lbs. And you felt like this tiny being barely larger than your hand had just reached out and taken your heart and claimed it for herself. It was the most heart warming and horrifying experience all at once. And the only thing that kept you going was looking up at her daddy, your wonderful supportive husband, and seeing the tender smile on his face that reassured you that everything was going to be o.k. Months later, when we knew she would be fine, hewe would admit to faking it just for your sake. And what an incredible joyous year it's been. You are the mother of a healthy, beautiful, sweet child that brings more joy and beauty into your life than you ever thought possible. I must remind myself to make sure I thank Lulu for all the good love, for all her wonderful smiles for all her giggles that are wonderful music to my hears.
