Dear FutureMe,
Hello me, I'm writing this on May 22nd, 2021, which means I'm 17 years old and will turn 18 in October. I have 2 more days left of high school. I've never used this website to write a 'Dear Future Me' letter. As you know, we've only ever written one on paper in 8th grade. Too bad I'll never get that letter, lol. The big question I want to ask you is what did you decide to major in? At the moment, I'm having the hardest time deciding. I wish you could tell me, lol. I'm ending my senior year with A's and B's mainly. Mom keeps telling me that graduating has been a real accomplishment (which I agree with for the most part), but she tells me that I did it in about 3 years, and it's really an accomplishment. I'm not particularly excited about graduating. I don't feel sad or have a surreal feeling. Maybe it hasn't hit me yet. Did it ever hit you later? I want this letter to be emailed in 5 years by then. It'll be 2026. What is America like? Did it change for the better or worse? Dad keeps saying it'll be better for my generation, was he right? Dad also thinks some other things was he ever right? If he wasn't, did we ever use it against him when he pats himself on the back? Now, my plan after high school is to go to OCC for 2 years and then go to Grand Valley and live with cousin Laura. Did I do it? People have often implied or told me that Grand Valley might not be the college for me, but I really want it to be. You're the only one who can tell me that.
I don't have that much to say, lol. So far, I've only ever told you things that have already happened to you and have asked crappy questions, lol. But I guess that's the only thing I can do.
You can answer these;
During this time, I'm friends with a few people, not very many. I've fallen out of touch with a few. I'm friends with; Vaidenhi, Mariana, Rainey, Sarai, & Salome. My question is, did I make any new friends in college, and would you consider them to be lifelong friends?
Did I ever fall out of touch with any of the friends I have now?
Now I work at Tim Hortons. Did I make any good friends working there that I still talk to? If I did, that amazes me because I like have barely worked there, lol.
I want this letter to be delivered to you in 5 years, which means we'll go through another presidential election. Depending on when you get this, who is running or is the new president?
At the moment, I want to start two Youtube channels, one with Rainey, all about drawing challenges, and re-start my own Youtube channel. Did I ever do it, and what did I decide to do for my channel?
Did you ever get the IPad pro you wanted? (I assume I did)
Did I ever learn to draw realistically?
Do I have my driver's license, or does cousin Laura drive me around lol?
I've been practicing for a little over 3 years now to become fluent in French. Did I ever do it?
Speaking of French, after I bought the IPad pro, did I ever save up money to take a vacation to France to meet Salome properly?
Speaking of traveling, lol, I'm not 100% sure if this is true, but I don't think we're actually not allowed to leave the country because of COVID-19. By the time you read this, you are right?
I also want to ask, if you did ever become fluent in French, did you ever learn Japanese with Rainey and Sarai? Or did you have to do it alone? Y'know they don't really commit (well, Rainey does more than Sarai).
How many languages do I know?
Which is the easiest to speak?
The last question, I promise. Do you still see Mrs. Vickie?
Okay, sorry about all those questions, but I feel like I had to ask them. As you know, I constantly dream about the future and what I'll decide to do with my life. I cry, looking back to the past in a nostalgic sense. I don't want to serve up bittersweet questions or just talk about dreams that I might not have anymore. I don't want to look back and think about how this is all I had to say or how we were trapped inside, but since nobody knows me better than well me, I wanted to give you something to make a video on.
Just a reminder that you obviously know about, but; you do end up getting that 8th-grade letter.
Epilogue
about 1 year laterHi, I guess this was your first time using this site?? lol. I think you were expecting to get this 5 years later but somehow I'm able to read it...
