Epilogue

Peaceful right?

Dear FutureMe, 3 years ago you promised a man that you would buy a MetoWe bracelet if he did. It was $5. Right now there's a pandemic, so you can't go out to buy one. But don't break that promise. You've never broken one before. That all sounded so ominous, so I'll tell you the story. You were working at The Bay and you had to sell those bracelets because it was mental health awareness week; the customers weren't forced to buy it and you didn't have a limit you had to sell, but it was for a good cause. So, anyways, you were trying to convince a customer to buy it and he said, "Well, have you bought one?" And you told him you hadn't, so he challenged you that he'd buy one only if you did. You said you were working right now, so you couldn't just leave to get your wallet and buy one at that very moment, but he'd have to trust you. You assured him that you would though. So he said, "Alright, fine, but you have to promise that you're going to buy one too," and you told him, "I promise, I will. For real!" And he eyed you, trying to see if you were bluffing, but you smirked and looked straight back, holding his stare. There was no way for him to know if you would stick to that promise, that you weren't just making false vows only to get him to buy one, but he must have seen the genuineness in your eyes or the fire in them insisting that you don't back down from a challenge, so he relented and told you to add a MetoWe bracelet to his purchase. You asked him which one he preferred, but he just waved his hand in the air and told you he didn't care, more intent on impaling you with his piercing eyes. "Just pick one, whichever one you like," he said without even looking down at the bracelets. So you chose the blue one and slid it into his bag, feeling his gaze never leave you the whole time. And he bought it. When he was leaving, he grabbed the bag off the counter, and as he was turning, he looked back to you one last time and tilted his head, saying, "Remember, you promised." And you smiled at him and replied, "I know, I won't forget." But bitch, you keep forgetting. Buy that fucking bracelet already it's been 3 years. A promise is a promise and you never go back on your promise so don't die breaking this one.
