Dear Chris,
I think the chances of you remembering this email are slim, but in reading it you might remember how you felt while writing it. I don't know what you're doing with your life right now, or who your friends are, but hopefully things are different rom how they are today.
Right now, as I sit here typing this to you, I can't help but feel underwhelmed by our life. We always aspired to great things, to some fantastical career and glorious social life and so far, from where I am... we haven't achieved it. I hope we're a little closer now.
We work in a cafe, in the uni we graduated from two years ago. That is definitely not something we ever saw ourselves doing. Two years have already gone by (well, three for you now) and what have we got to show for it. We have a place to live, we have a few friends, but otherwise, what does our life consist of? We go between work and home, home and work, day in, day out. Nothing ever changes for us.
I hope that where you are, that we're making better decisions and moving closer to a more fulfilling life. I hope that you take better care of yourself, that you treat your body and your mind with more respect. I hope that you spend every day working towards something beautiful. I hope you remember how you felt writing this and I hope you never let yourself get back to that position ever again.
From a version of you I hope is nothing more than a distant memory,
Chris
Epilogue
