Dear 2022 Maria:
If the world hasn't ended yet... and you haven't changed your email... well, that's okay. I don't think you'd be the type to change your email like that. I mean, you've had /this/ one for six years, at least!
I've just turned seventeen, and I've got all these plans and all these ideas, and none of them are probably very important right now. You're... twenty seven.
Right now I'm imagining you with a kid or two, (definitely the husband... or at least a boyfriend), probably ridiculously happy, teaching your kdis and having learned a lot more about yourself.
Do you remember being 17? How elegant the number is? 27 isn't as elegant, but it's more accomplished. It's fuller.
I wonder if you feel old-- if you still feel like there's not enough time to read all those books, if you're still writing... how long it took you to become polyphasic... which things you wish you'd done... which things you regret doing...
Whether or not you think school is more or less important now... whetehr it's moved up to the first thing you think about or not.
At 24, I'm assuming you finished medical school. So what are you doing now? Are you doing night school? I think it's another two years...
I'm curious to meet you... I wonder what you look like, whether you've got new wrinkles... love handles, if you've started liking make-up and jewelry... if you've got long hair...
I think of you looking sort of like my mom, actually, but with nicer glasses.
Speaking of which, are you planning on getting laser surgery? That would be interesting to see...
I'm rambling. I tend to ramble. I wonder if you ramble too, or if you've become more concise.
Anyway, a couple of tips:
- Remember that procrastination is good at times.
- Remember to look back... see what you wrote in 2012. All the projects you had. (Riddle Rose... did it ever get published?)
- Read your blog posts... those old ones off aminowrimo. I wonder if that will still be there, or if you've moved it.
And... are you still friends with people? What's the husband like?
Kisses!
2012 Maria
