Dear FutureMe,
Hey, me. How are you? You’re a freshman now, so that’s cool. Are you still friends with Apollo and the gang? I’m doing better, but it’s still tough. Life still sucks. I’m still coping all my trauma and such. I see gus everywhere I go. In the color purple, in the type of mask he had, his hair, his laugh, I see it everywhere. He’s In my science, and my art class. I had another nightmare about it last night. Listen, I don’t know how you are doing, but do it for me. Write a letter to future you. Tell us how it is. I’m recovering, doing better every day. It will get better for you too. We made it out before, we can do it again.
To let you know about how life is going:
Right now, you have friends. We’re on medication.
I’m in 8th grade. There’s so much I wish I could tell you about right now. I have’t changed my name. I go by sky now. I finally came out to our mom. I use they/them pronouns now, even at school. I got a haircut, really short. We love it.
I have a partner. Their name is Apollo and i love them. We met them at a choir concert and started dating a month later..
Never doubt yourself. You are worth so much to everyone you meet. You were never a burden and never will be. And it will get better. I promise, it will.
I love you,
Sky smith
