Dear FutureMe,
Hey! Are you doing OK? how's life been? My gosh, today has been weird. I was happy then I cried then I'm fine again then I wasn't then I was.
Just remember this, Both I and your future self are looking at you, smiling, knowing wherever you are at, it's better than before! at least you tried to be better, which is better than moping over it! you are smart, beautiful, and kind, and unless you are dead, you still have a future worth fighting for. choose yourself. give yourself a (mental) break. have fun!
DO this list; in order.
1. accept yourself. love yourself.
2. see what needs love, acknowledgment.
3. after you are in a good place, see what needs to be better.
4. remember no matter what, you are better for thinking about stuff, better for TRYING to do it.
5. work on your strengths. you have no weaknesses. work on your weaker strengths. work on your oddities. work on the voice saying that you are weak. then work on what you once thought was weak. find that you are VERY strong.
6. you can't fail, you can find a bump in the road, but that doesn't stop you from driving. if anything, smooth the bump! if your car breaks down, ASK FOR HELP. if no one does, that's because you aren't asking hard enough. look for someone to listen. they will.
7. SLEEP
8. things are always going to get harder. if you can't move forward, stay where you are. keep working on yourself, you will get past the bump in the road if you truly need to. You can. it's mostly mental.
9. you are the protagonist in your story, the antagonist in others. for some, you are the love interest or the comical relief. but in the most important stories, you are the kind stranger who helped that protagonist. who inspired them. be the kind stranger. then be the odd unexplainable phenomenon who left a watermelon at their door :)
10. choose yourself. if you can't, choose others. choose the horse. be better because you want to run faster than Alex. you might not be able to beat josh in sprinting, but at least you can beat Alex. choose the universe. choose the people who laughed at you then laugh in their face.
laugh at the voice in your head who said you couldn't do it, then crush the voice under your foot. do it because you wanted to, and why not?
you don't need a reason to be better. just be better. BOOM. you are already better for laughing at a joke that was told five minutes ago because YOU are happy. trust me, it was a bad joke. but at least you aren't clueless anymore. every second you are improving. you know more. you think more. you LOVE more.
-you
