A letter from Dec 9th, 2021

Time Travelled — 12 months

Peaceful right?

Dear Future Me, I hope you're doing better. If you're not, then I'm sure you will soon. I hope your mind is healing. I hope your relationships are healing. Do you have good friends? People who treat you well and genuinely care for you? How's your relationship with mom and dad? If its rocky, just remember that we love them always, no matter how they make us feel. What did you do this summer? Did you end up working at Soul? Or did you do CIT? Did you get your license? I think it'll be super cool to be able to drive. I know today is a hard day. It always is. But, just for today, let's think of our happy memories, alright? Not the things that make us angry or sad, but the things that make us remember our best friend with happy tears. Do you remember when you and Ana went sledding? And you made hot chocolate after? It was so cold that mom had to stay in the car. You and Ana always called broccoli 'trees' and you had matching pjs! Do you remember your sleepover? Or the day you went to wish her goodbye? Don't think about what comes after, think about the day you brought her a purple slurpee and you played on her hammock and with the bubble machine. That was very fun. Instead of just asking questions, I'm going to tell you about my life now so that you can compare: I've got a couple of good friends, but you know I'll always be waiting for that one best friend. Still hasn't showed up yet. I'm doing pretty well in school. I'm on student council and the ESPORTS team. I haven't played yet though. Relationships with parents have been rocky lately, but nothing we can't deal with. (My eye really hurts right now owww) My mental health hasn't been so hot. I've been dealing with anxiety, and my Janet is helping me deal with some trauma, and my doctor is seeing if I have ADHD, but other than that, I'm fantastic. I really hope you're doing well, we deserve a win. But if you're not, don't worry. I sent a letter to 2 years in the future so you're not my only option. Love you and praying for you, Your 1 year younger self
