Dear FutureMe,
I sent one to us in three years just a few months ago, but a lot has happened. After working really, really hard to get into university, I've had to take a gap year due to financial aid.
I'm devastated. I made friends at the school and have yet to tell them I'm not going. I know I'm going to see all of them on Instagram and feel heartbroken.
I think things happen for a reason, and I'm doing my best. Right now, I'm job-hunting so that I can save up to go to Japan next July to take the JLPT. I hope that now, in January, that's still something we're going to do. I wanted Allen to go with us, but he says its the busiest day at work so he might not be able to.
There's a poem by Blythe bird that I've memorized by now:
I'm trying to see things in perspective
My dog wants a bite of my peanut butter chocolate bagel
But I know she cannot have this because chocolate makes dogs very sick.
She does not understand this.
She wraps herself around my ankle like a sad scarf
begging me to give her just a tiny piece
When I don't give in,
she goes to sit by the fireplace,
sad and drooping.
I hope the universe has my best interest in mind
like I have my dogs
and when I want something with my entire being
and the Universe withholds it from me,
I hope the Universe shakes her said, saying,
"Silly girl, she thinks this is what she wants but she does not know how it will hurt."
I hope the universe has our best interest in mind. And I hope we're happy.
Epilogue
about 15 hours laterBaby we're trying lmao.
But, Im beginning to think the universe might know...
